Meet Dr. Alvarez

Dr. Andy Alvarez is a graduate of the University of Florida College of Dentistry, where he obtained his dental degree and also completed an additional two year pediatric dental residency. During this residency at the University of Florida/Shands Hospital in Gainesville, he received training in a number of procedures including but not limited to nitrous oxide analgesia, conscious sedation, hospital/surgical center treatment, treating special needs children and orthodontics. While in dental school at UF, Dr. Alvarez went on a number of international dental mission trips and participated in numerous dental research studies. Prior to beginning his dental training, Dr. Alvarez earned both a Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular and Microbiology from the University of Central Florida and a Master’s of Science degree in Biomedical Science from Barry University in Hollywood, FL.

Originally from Miami, Dr. Alvarez was born and raised in a large Cuban-American family. He is thankful for his family and his fluency in Spanish.  He is very excited to be back in Orlando serving the community he loves and knows from his years at UCF. In his downtime, he enjoys traveling and experiencing new cultures; but he enjoys spending time with his family, friends and his King Charles Cavalier spaniel “Bruce” the most.
